UAE’s first casino: ‘Bigger than Vegas’

Hotel and casino operator Wynn Resorts will open a casino at the luxury resort that is building in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Wynn Marjan has started planning how its UAE casino operates in Ras Al Khaimah.

“The casino component, where at least for some period of time, we will be operating on our own, which makes it quite exciting is shaping up to be somewhat larger than Wynn Las Vegas, but with numerous pockets of energy and compression.” said Craig Billings (Wynn Resorts CEO) in the group’s Q3 2022 earning call this week.

The casino is set for completion in 2026 on a man-made island off the coast of Ras Al Khaimah – Dream Island.

Unlike the rest of Marjan Island, Dream Island has seen no development, meaning Wynn will be the sole resort on the site as current plans stand.

The casino is intended to be around 18,500 square meters in size.

If this goes ahead, the facility would be among the ten biggest in the world and almost double the size of Wynn’s Vegas site.
